Aims and Objectives

SCC is working towards achieving the following objectives for the benefit of its target group the poor, socially and economically deprived people. 

  • To mobilize and create awareness among the people of poorest of the poor on prevailing socio-economic situation and encourage them for active participation in socio-economic development program. 
  • To undertake suitable projects and programs with special emphasis on Primary Health Care/GBV safe home centers/ Comprehensive Rural Development/Preservation of environment, WASH programs and Emergency Education Programs. 
  • To undertake skill development training programs for women, youths on handicraft and TVET programs 
  • To assist deserving poor people by means of giving them short term loan for creating income generating activities. 
  • To train up required number of volunteers on hygiene promotion, Traditional Birth attendants and Functional Community Education committees etc. 
  • To establish manageable Training Center for Community Development Training for various level of people. 
  • To co-operate and assist in suitable joint venture with the governmental institutions and private agencies seeking the goal of redressing poverty and improving health, education, protections and WASH status of common people or relief and rehabilitation at the time of any disaster. 
  • To plan and execute Development, Relief and Rehabilitation programs within the terms of objects of the SCC. 
  • To establish, run and support Health Care Center, Clinic, Technical Training Center, Schools, grant, stipend and scholarship for higher studies at home and do all such other things as may be benefit for the community. 
  • To all such other things as are necessary or conducive to attainment of the objects of the SCC. 
  • Women empowerment organizing, mobilizing, developing capacity and skills and creating provision of inclusion in decision making process in family and community enabling them to become economically and socially independent. 
  • Ensure cost effective community-based affordable and easy access health service especially for women and children (Primary health, antennal and postnatal).
  • Protection and preservation of culture, language and tradition of clan indigenous people. 
  • To seek and receive subscriptions, donations and other supports from individuals, business groups, diasporas and local institutions or Organizations both from home and abroad and use the same for the purposes of the Organization; however for receiving and utilizing any foreign donation or contributions, or support the organization shall abide by all provisions laid down in the Voluntary activities.
  • To establish/construct primary and secondary schools to facilitate access to education to school going children. 
  • To improve access to safe and clean water for poor and IDP communities and construct/rehabilitate water sources in South/Central Somalia.
  • To promote sanitation and hygiene practices in IDP and poor communities.
  • To reduce child and mother morbidity and mortality in the poor and IDP communities.
  • To improve mothers’ health and their knowledge of health and nutrition issues.
  • To distribute food aid and shelter items to needy and vulnerable and needy families.
  • To improve livelihood through provision of Technical vocational training and skill development to youths.
  • To establish Livelihood support to poor and low income families in Banadir, lower and Middle Shebelle regions.
