    Fartun is the fourth child of a family with six children; her family moved from Beled weyn district in Hiran region due to floods and insecurity where they lost all of their properties (Livestock).

Fartun is the fourth child of a family with six children; her family moved from Beled weyn district in Hiran region due to floods and insecurity where they lost all of their properties (Livestock).
Fartun Aden Ali is 9 years old student in Aboor School at Tarebunka IDP settlement in Hodan District Mogadishu; she is in Standard three of morning shift class. 

Fartun is the fourth child of a family with six children; her family moved from Beled weyn district in Hiran region due to floods and insecurity where they lost all of their properties (Livestock). 

After that in midst 2011 Fartun’s family arranged to move to Mogadishu, and then they lastly came and settled in Aboor IDP camp at Tarebunka where they arranged makeshift huts. 


Her mother is a housewife and her father is a sick on bed for months. The family is very poor depend on wet feeding centers, but sometimes gets some assistant from their relatives especially their uncle who is minibus driver in Mogadishu.

With the assistance of UNICEF, SCC established Education in Emergency schools in IDP settlements in 2019, but after some time the schools stopped due to fund lack. But fortunately, In November 2019 CHF/NRC refunding closed schools started, to get incentives for the teachers of the closed schools. About 116 students in Tarebunka benefitted this project.

Fartun is one of the students whose school is closed due to fund. Fortunately, she had a chance again to start her education in November 2014. Though CHF project completed in July 2015 the school is functional and the teachers are working voluntarily. 

She said that she benefitted from the school more knowledge and good manner. "Without this assistance it would not be possible for me to go to school, I would be at home because this school is free of charge and we cannot pay school fees” said Fartun. "The subjects I like most is Math and Arabic” she added.

Fartun said "At first time I felt disappointed in dispair as I would not get a chance for education again after the school is closed, but now things got different after when NRC refunded the school and teachers get incentive. Now I’m happy I can write and read and I want to continue my education till degree”
