Banadir State

Banadir is an administrative region in southeastern Somalia. It covers the same area as the city of Mogadishu, which serves as the capital. It is bordered to the northwest by the Shabelle river, and to the southeast by the Indian Ocean. 

Although by far the smallest administrative region in Somalia, it has the largest population.

Project Title: Provision of Essential Camp Coordination and Camp Management Services to Ensure Basic Service Provision for the Drought-Affected Sites Residents in Kahda District

Target Beneficiaries: 18,348 households (110,088 individuals) of IDPs in Kahda District

Activities: Distribution of Information Materials, Establishment and Capacity Building of Camp Management Committees (CMCs), Training and Employ 50 Cash-for-Work (CfW) Workers, Distribution of Toolkits for CfW Workers, Construction and furnish Community Centers, Distribution of Portable Solar Lights, conduct Coordination Meetings, Training Workshops for staff and stakeholders, establish Complaints Feedback Mechanisms,

Deliverables:
Enhanced Camp Management, Increased Access to Essential Services, Improved Community Engagement, Strengthened Capacity of Stakeholders, Improved Safety and Security by the solar lights, Effective Coordination and Collaboration and Enhanced Feedback Mechanisms.


Project Title: Enhancing access to GBV specialized services and prevention information in drought-impacted locations in Somalia
Target Beneficiaries: Women, Men Boys and girls including PWDs: 4,995

Activities: Case management, Clinical management of rape and Psychosocial support

Deliverables:
Established Case Management System, provide specialized medical care to survivors of rape and sexual assault, Offered psychosocial support services to GBV survivors.


Project Title: Integrated Multisectoral Emergency Assistance for Internally Displaced, Drought and Conflict Affected Children In Dayniile And Kahda District In Banadir Region

Target Beneficiaries: 6,340 students (3,514 boys and 2,826 girls)

Activities: Construction of schools and latrines, distribution of teaching and learning materials, Capacity building trainings forum session on Menstrual Hygiene management demonstration social mobilization, Support schools with provision of water, provide girls sanitary kits.

Deliverables:

Built new schools and latrines, Provided essential teaching and learning materials to schools, Implemented capacity building trainings for teachers and education staff, enhancing their skills and knowledge in delivering quality education, Held forum sessions and demonstrations on menstrual hygiene management, raise awareness and engage the community in supporting education and child well-being, Ensured access to safe and clean drinking water in schools, through the provision of water sources, storage facilities, and water treatment systems, adolescent girls ensured their menstrual hygiene needs are met and promoted their continuous education.

Project Title: First Line Response, CCCM Zonal Champion Support in Kahda district, Banadir

Target Beneficiaries: 20,875 newly arrived IDPS in Kahda District

Activities: to conduct rapid identification, verification, and registration of newly arrived households using a streamlined common beneficiary registration tool which captures all essential household vulnerability criteria required for beneficiary selection

Deliverables:
Implement beneficiary registration, use and efficient in collecting relevant information, successfully identify, verify, and register newly arrived households in Kahda district.
